Mapping network drives

To access files on the server, you will need to "map" your network drive(s).

By default, the Remotely Yours Biz Server standard drive letter mappings are:

   * X: drive = \\server\common
* Y: drive = \\server\corporate
* Z: drive = \\server\accounting
* P: drive = \\server\firstname.lastname

The drives that you can access are dictated by the permissions/security groups you belong to. These can be changed by an Administrator through Webmin.

The easiest way to map your drives is to:

  1. go to Start > Run, and type \\server then hit OK.
2. A list of the shares on the server should appear (Common, Corporate, Accounting and your personal user share, normally firstname.lastname)
3. Right click on the share name and choose Map Network Drive
4. Choose the appropriate drive letter (see above list) and click OK.
5. The new drive should now appear under your list of drives in My Computer.

If you are having problems connecting to any drive(s), ensure that your networking connection is working by surfing the web/checking email, and that you can "ping server" from a command prompt (Start > Run > cmd)
