How to setup your email in Outlook, Thunderbird, MacMail

Standard email hosting is also known as POP3/IMAP hosting, which is different than Zimbra Hosting. This means your email is either pulled down and stored on your computer (POP3), or a limited amount of mail is stored on our hosted server (IMAP).

Setting up Outlook 2007 for Standard email hosting

  1. Open Outlook
    1. Go to Tools > Account Settings > New
    2. Choose Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
    3. Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types
  2. Choose Internet E-mail, click Next then fill in:
    1. Your Name: (put your name)
    2. Email Address: [user]
    3. Account Type: POP3
    4. Incoming mail server: mail.remotelyyours.com
    5. Outgoing Mail server (SMTP): mail.remotelyyours.com
    6. User Name: [user]
    7. Password: [pass]
  3. Click the More Settings button
    1. Click the Outgoing Server tab, check My outgoing server requires authentication
    2. check Use same settings as my incoming mail server
  4. Click the Advanced tab
    1. check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
    2. leave the default port number as 995
    3. change Use the following type of encrypted connection to SSL
    4. change the port from 25 to 465
  5. Click OK, then Next, then Finish.

Webmail

You can access webmail by going to: http://webmail.remotelyyours.com and entering username: [user] and password: [pass]
