How to setup your email in Outlook, Thunderbird, MacMail
Standard email hosting is also known as POP3/IMAP hosting, which is different than Zimbra Hosting. This means your email is either pulled down and stored on your computer (POP3), or a limited amount of mail is stored on our hosted server (IMAP).
Setting up Outlook 2007 for Standard email hosting
- Open Outlook
- Go to Tools > Account Settings > New
- Choose Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP
- Click Manually configure server settings or additional server types
- Choose Internet E-mail, click Next then fill in:
- Your Name: (put your name)
- Email Address: [user]
- Account Type: POP3
- Incoming mail server: mail.remotelyyours.com
- Outgoing Mail server (SMTP): mail.remotelyyours.com
- User Name: [user]
- Password: [pass]
- Click the More Settings button
- Click the Outgoing Server tab, check My outgoing server requires authentication
- check Use same settings as my incoming mail server
- Click the Advanced tab
- check This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)
- leave the default port number as 995
- change Use the following type of encrypted connection to SSL
- change the port from 25 to 465
- Click OK, then Next, then Finish.
Webmail
You can access webmail by going to: http://webmail.remotelyyours.com and entering username: [user] and password: [pass]
