How to setup Zimbra in Outlook

Once you have your zimbra account, you need to import all your data into Outlook. In order to do that you need to follow the steps below.

AFTER you have imported your data using the Zimbra Outlook PST importer, you can now setup Outlook so that it syncs on your PC!

Windows 7 32 bit and Windows XP using Outlook 2007 and later

  1. Close Outlook!
  2. Download and install the latest Outlook Connector for Zimbra
  3. After completing installation, launch Outlook and you will be prompted for the following information:
    1. Server name: zimbra.remotelyyours.com
    2. check Use Secure connection
    3. Email address: [user]
    4. Password: [pass]
  4. Click OK.

Windows 7 64 bit using Outlook 2007 and later

  2. Downand install the latest Outlook Connector for Zimbra
  3. After completing the installation, launch Outlook and you will be prompted for the following information:
    1. Server name zimbra.remotelyyours.com

    3. Email address: [user]

Once Outlook is up and running you can restore your Rules as well as restore your Autocomplete history.

Other common first-time adjustments:

  • Go to Zimbra > Advanced and check:
    • Sync Signature - SUPPORTS SYNC'ING TEXT ONLY.  If you want an image in your signature, uncheck this box and setup individually on each PC.
    • Rules - you should delete the "Clear Categories" if it is your first-time sync, because if you had previously categorized anything this will wipe it out as the mail is sync'd down.
  • In Outlook 2003/2007, to see the Zimbra toolbar you need to go to View > Toolbars and check Zimbra Support
